CREAM Expanding to the California Central Valley

Company plans call for having as many as five locations over the next several years.

May 27, 2015 // Franchising.com // MILLBRAE, Cali. – CREAM, a Bay Area-based dessert franchise that specializes in high quality ice cream sandwiches and other confections, has inked a franchise deal that will bring five new locations to various parts of the Central Valley.

The first of the five locations is slated to open in the next several weeks in Fresno. This will be the first store operated by MAD Frozen Delights, a group consisting of David Barhum, Mohammad Barhum, and Mike Zahriya. The group has additional locations planned for Stockton, Bakersfield, Merced, and Modesto.

“We’re going to grow quickly. There’s a lot of excitement around the brand,” said CREAM president and COO Jim Ryan, noting that the franchise has more than 30 other stores in various stages of development throughout California and Florida. “Enjoying an ice cream sandwich can allow everyone to reconnect with their inner child. We took that old favorite to the next level so that people of all ages and palates can enjoy an endless combination of cookies, ice cream flavors and toppings.”

CREAM, which is an acronym for “Cookies Rule Everything Around Me,” offers a menu of 20 ice cream flavors and 20 cookie flavors and as many as 24 toppings that customers can mix and match, as well as vegan and gluten-free options.

“CREAM has had tremendous success throughout California and in Nevada, therefore we are extremely excited to bring the concept to the Central Valley,” said Barhum. “CREAM offers premium products that have proven to be a great hit among the young and young-at-heart. Customers not only love the quality of the products and the affordability, but also the fact that the customization options are endless. There is something to satisfy every sweet tooth.”

While the ice cream sandwiches are the main draw, CREAM also has milkshakes, floats, malts, scoops of ice cream and other baked goods, such as “The Cream Taco,” a taco shell shaped waffle cone.
