Zaniac Greenwich Announces Major Expansion Plans

Innovative After-School STEM Enrichment Franchise to Open Campuses in Westport, CT and Upper East Side of Manhattan

GREENWICH, Conn. - July 8, 2015 // PRNewswire // - Building on the momentum of its successful launch just 18 months ago in Fairfield County, Connecticut, the co-founders of Zaniac Greenwich have announced plans for a major expansion of 10 new campuses in the New York Metropolitan area with the opening of two new campuses in Westport, CT and Manhattan. The Westport campus is located at 1391 Post Road East and the Manhattan campus is at 261 E 78th street, between 2nd & 3rd Avenues. Both campuses are scheduled to open in August and early September.

Zaniac is a national STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) franchise designed from the ground up to prioritize fun, to actively engage and integrate a multi-disciplinary approach to problem solving. Zaniac first entered the Northeast in December 2013 when Greenwich residents Camilla Gazal and Flavia Naslausky opened the Greenwich campus at 644 West Putnam Avenue.

Since opening in Greenwich, more than 500 students K-8 have signed up for Zaniac's programs. About 300 students have signed up for Zaniac Greenwich's summer camp, a 100 percent increase from last summer.

As the first-ever Zaniac franchisees, Gazal and Naslausky, both of whom are mothers with professional backgrounds in the financial services industry, pioneered the Zaniac franchise program and plan to continue expanding through a franchise deal set to bring additional locations to the New York Metropolitan region.

"As mothers and business professionals, we knew we wanted to open an enrichment center that was focused on STEM education," said Gazal. "Witnessing first-hand the overwhelmingly positive impact Zaniac had on our own children confirmed our decision to bring the opportunity to other children throughout the region,'" she added.

"When we opened our first campus we expected to see most of our students coming from the Greenwich area. However, we were surprised and delighted to see enrollment from students in other communities in Fairfield County as well as nearby Westchester County and even New York City. That's when we decided the time was right to take the Zaniac concept to a wider audience," said Naslausky.

Zaniac campuses are bright and colorful, featuring glass-walled classrooms with white boards and large multimedia screens. The company provides a host of STEM learning programs that get kids excited about math and science while preparing them for 21st Century jobs, including Zaniac Robotics: LEGO®, Game-Based Learning: Minecraft™, 3D Printing, App Creation and Computer Programming.

Zaniac was founded by Paul Zane Pilzer, a college professor, economist, social entrepreneur and best-selling author. Pilzer served as an appointed economic advisor in two White House administrations and has started or taken public six companies in healthcare and K-12 education. Zaniac currently has corporate campuses in Salt Lake City and Park City, Utah and in Miami. The fast-growing Zaniac franchise plans to reach 50 campuses by 2017.
