Owners Celebrate With Free Sub Fundraiser

July 29, 2015 // Franchising.com // League City, TX - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened in League City on July 22. Franchise owners Jim Mellon, Ed McCaffrey and Scott Irvine with operating partner, Josh Singletary held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, July 22 to Sunday, July 26 to support University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities.

The new restaurant, located 2456 Marina Bay Drive, circulated 7,500 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $2 contribution to CADD.

“I have a very close relative who has been diagnosed with autism” explains Singletary. “While researching autism, I discovered UHCL’s Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities or CADD, and realized I could do something to help those affected by autism.”

Dorthea Lerman, director and UHCL professor of psychology for the Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities added “I am overwhelmed by the generosity of Jersey Mike’s, Carpo and Mr. Singletary. Gifts like these can make a real difference in the services we are able to offer.”
