Bacon Wins Bacon: Cheryl Bacon Wins Which Wich’s “Ultimate Bacon Giveaway”

Superior Sandwich Chain’s Summertime Sweepstakes Compliments Limited Time Only Bacon Menu

DALLAS, TX (PRWEB) September 14, 2015 - Which Wich, the Dallas-based fast-casual sandwich concept, randomly selected Conroe, TX resident Cheryl Bacon as one of ten winners in their recent “Ultimate Bacon Giveaway” sweepstakes. After entering the sweepstakes via Which Wich’s Facebook page, ten chance entries were selected and awarded gift cards for a free year of wiches.

The giveaway ran in conjunction with the brand’s seasonal limited-time only “Bag 8” menu option: the Ultimate BLT. The amped up version of the classic sandwich featured lettuce, tomato, avocado, chipotle mayo and eight slices of thick-cut bacon on sourdough bread. The exciting seasonal menu also featured a bacon milkshake.

“Anytime you win something, it’s great, especially when it’s something you love,” said Bacon. “Which Wich is one of the few places our whole family can go to and nobody complains. That’s a huge undertaking, so it was a very welcome surprise!”

It may be hard to believe that Cheryl’s last name didn’t automatically propel her to the win, the brand used a random number generator to choose ten winners from a list of 22,477 entrants. The list of winners spans the country from Oregon to Ohio, including Adrienne Hatch, Lisa Mizell, Kevin Peterson, Patty Reis, Joseph Goldberg, Amanda Habener, Bethany Turner, Donita Berkland and VanTrese Dailey. Each of the winners will enjoy free sandwiches for the year.

As for her unintentionally appropriate name, Bacon chalks it up to fate.

“Bacon has been my last name for a long time, so when I entered I didn’t even give it a second thought. But, of course it’s a funny coincidence! I thought it was cool, and we’ve already been down to Which Wich to use our gift card.”

The introduction of Which Wich’s limited time only bacon menu items marked the unveiling of a new partnership between Which Wich and Hormel. The brand has switched from using bacon crumbles to a thick-cut Applewood smoked variety in all of its sandwiches. While the customer sweepstakes ran online, franchisees also had a contest of their own to see who could sell the most bacon during the season.

The brand’s San Luis Obispo, Calif. location was victorious, and the store was awarded a year of free bacon from Hormel.

“Our customers absolutely love these seasonal menu items,” said Which Wich San Luis Obispo franchisee Tejal Vinchhi. “We’re proud that out of nearly 400 locations we sold the most bacon. Our customers love the high quality of the Hormel bacon we’re now serving. It’s made our already great sandwiches even better. ”

Which Wich has become known for its specialty “Bag 8” menu options and recently launched a new Reuben sandwich selection that’s already become a new fan favorite.
