Free Pancakes To Be Served Up At Perkins® Restaurant & Bakery On September 24, 2015

Pay It Forward Fundraiser To Benefit Give Kids The World

September 17, 2015 // Franchising.com // MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE – Perkins Free Pancake Day returns for the fourth year in a row on Thursday, September 24, 2015. Guests young and old are invited to enjoy a free short stack of Perkins famous, madefrom-scratch buttermilk pancakes at any participating Perkins Restaurant & Bakery. All the company asks is that guests consider “paying it forward” with a donation to Give Kids The World (GKTW), a non-profit resort in Central Florida that creates magical memories for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.

Since 1989, Perkins has raised over $20 million dollars for Give Kids The World through a variety of fundraising efforts and the generosity of the company’s employees, franchisees and vendors. “Perkins Free Pancake Day is one of those fundraising events that the entire community looks forward to and rallies around each year,” comments Jim Frank, Chief Operating Officer of Perkins Restaurant & Bakery. Frank explains, “The day creates a positive environment for waitstaff and guests alike. The fact that we can all play a part in helping Give Kids the World, an organization that has served over 140,000 families from all 50 states and 75 countries, is truly outstanding.”

All dollars raised by Perkins Restaurants & Bakery, go directly towards the operation of the Village’s Gingerbread House, a delightfully whimsical restaurant opened by Perkins Restaurant and Bakery in 1990, where 200,000 breakfasts and dinners are served annually to Give Kids the World guests. Pam Landwirth, President of Give Kids the World summarizes, “Perkins has been among our most treasured partners for over 25 years. Through the boundless generosity of Perkins staff, franchisees, and guests we have served over 5,000,000 meals in our beloved Gingerbread House Restaurant. We are deeply grateful that they have embraced our mission and help us create the happiness that inspires hope.”
