Doctors Express Urgent Care Centers to Change Name; Continue Quality Care

As part of a nationwide rebranding, three Doctors Express walk-in clinics in Chattanooga, Hixson and Cleveland will be renamed American Family Care urgent and family care centers.

CHATTANOOGA, TENN. (PRWEB) October 08, 2015 - American Family Care (AFC), the nation’s leading provider of urgent care and accessible primary care, recently announced it will be retiring the Doctors Express name, which is currently used at more then 80 of its 147 medical centers nationwide, including locations in Chattanooga, Hixson, and Cleveland, Tenn.

This rebranding comes slightly more than two years after AFC acquired the Doctors Express system and is expected to enhance the company’s position as one of the most widely recognized and respected brands in health care.

Patients of the three Doctors Express locations in East Tennessee can continue to expect the high-quality, personalized health care they have relied on for the past three years.

“Our name change will not impact patient care,” says Dr. Todd Rudolph, medical director of the three East Tennessee centers. “Quality, convenience, and affordability will remain hallmarks of our care during and after the brand transition.”

“The health care landscape is fragmented,” says D. Bruce Irwin, M.D., Founder & CEO of American Family Care. “With a presence in 26 states and extremely high rates of patient satisfaction, our network of clinics has become the standard for quality and convenience in health care. With the AFC name on all of our clinics, we now have a single brand, from coast to coast, in which Americans place their confidence.”

“We are proud to embrace the AFC brand,” says Larry Kugler, CEO of the centers in Chattanooga, Hixson, and Cleveland. “The Doctors Express name has always stood for exceptional urgent care without the long wait and expensive cost of an emergency room. AFC’s shared vision and history make our partnership and brand change a natural fit.”

Rebranding Timeline

The brand transition for centers in East Tennessee, as well as locations in Colorado and South Carolina, will occur by the end of 2015. Additional rebranding will occur at centers in Connecticut, Nebraska, and Pennsylvania during 2016.

“Based on focus groups we’ve conducted, we know that patients want reassurance they will see the same friendly doctors and staff, the same insurance plans and co-pays will be accepted, and that our centers will continue to be locally owned and operated,” says William L. Koleszar, Chief Marketing Officer of AFC. “All of that is absolutely the case.”

“Our logo and signs are changing, but our high standards of service remain the same,” says Dr. Rudolph. “We will continue to be our community’s trusted resource for doctor-provided urgent care for the whole family.”
