Woof Gang Bakery Hosts Third Annual Company-wide Pet Adoption Event to Support Animal Rescue

Adopt-a-thon event to kick off National Pet Week helps animals in need

April 19, 2016 // Franchising.com // ORLANDO, Fla. – The Woof Gang Bakery annual adopt-a-thon event will take place on Saturday, April 30, 2016, kicking off National Pet Week. On April 30, Woof Gang Bakery stores nationwide will host in-store adoption events to support animal rescue organizations in their local communities. As part of the adopt-a-thon, local animal welfare groups will have pets available for adoption at 64 Woof Gang Bakery locations across the United States. Woof Gang Bakery stores will also offer giveaways throughout the day.

The event is a great opportunity for prospective pet owners to find their perfect match, whether they are looking for a dog, cat, mixed-breed or purebred to become a part of their family.

During this time and throughout the year, Woof Gang Bakery strives to raise awareness for the more than 7 million dogs and cats seeking “furever” homes across the country. In the weeks leading up to the April 30 adopt-a-thon event, Woof Gang Bakery stores will have donation drop boxes for food, treats and toys to collect much-needed items for local rescue groups.

The results from last year’s adoption event were “pawsitively” successful with 70 dogs and cats placed in new homes. Participating animal rescue organization received donations, including nearly 2,600 total pounds of pet food, in addition to to $7,800 in other donations such as treats, toys and accessories, and $500 in grooming services.
