Blue Moon Estate Sales Expands into the Upstate-Area

Eases the liquidation process with second location in South Carolina.

July 08, 2016 // Franchising.com // RALEIGH, NC – Blue Moon Estate Sales, the leading estate sales franchise in the country and pioneer of the new niche, continues its national expansion with the opening of its newest location in South Carolina.

Based in Clemson, the new location will open this July and marks the company’s second expansion into the state. Blue Moon Estate Sales of Anderson, Clemson and Seneca will serve the Upstate-area of western South Carolina, including the counties of Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens.

"This is an incredibly exciting time for our brand," said David Blue, co-founder and Vice President of Development of Blue Moon. "Having already established a loyal following of customers throughout North Carolina, we now have our sights set on South Carolina and intend to continue expansion throughout the state.”

Blue Moon of Anderson, Clemson and Seneca will be owned and operated by husband-and-wife duo, Meredith Jones and Julie Jacoby. Prior to opening their Blue Moon location, Jones and Jacoby worked in the healthcare industry for over 40 and 30 years, respectively. After experiencing firsthand the loss of a parent, Jones and Jacoby set out to find a business that allowed them to help others during an emotional and difficult time.

Blue Moon Estate Sales offers an extensive list of services provided during the liquidation process: from determining a convenient time line to sweeping up after the sale, Blue Moon also offers a complimentary and extensive evaluation of the home, appropriate pricing from antiques to everyday items, categorization and staging of the home, marketing, hosting and staffing of the sale. As an added bonus, Blue Moon brings a loyal fan base to every sale, which includes customers who will line up hours before the sale to be the first ones to enter the home.

The estate sale experts currently have 19 locations open and operating in five states and company plans call for having a total of 10 new locations open in 2016.

“As careers and family dynamics change, many people choose to transition to a smaller home,” said Jones. South Carolina is a thriving market where people are looking to move or downsize, meaning they want to sell possessions they’ve had for years. The process of liquidating an estate is extremely stressful –no matter the situation- so that’s where we come in to help ease that burden.”
