Property Damage Claims on the Rise in Little Rock

National Restoration Franchise PuroClean Announces Market Expansion, Company CEO and Home Builder to Speak August 30

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - August 16, 2016  - (BUSINESS WIRE) - About one in 15 insured homes in Little Rock has a property damage claim each year resulting from water or fire damage, to the tune of $69.3 million in direct losses incurred within the Little Rock metro market.

To respond to the unprecedented demand and expand its network to serve the Little Rock area, a team of corporate executives from Florida-based PuroClean – a national franchise that provides certified, trained professionals to serve homes and businesses damaged by water, mold, fire and natural disasters – is flying into the area to scout potential local franchisees.

PuroClean CEO, Mark Davis, along with North Texas PuroClean franchise owner Jim Bauer, who, prior to purchasing his business, had 25 years of experience building homes, will host a pair of events on August 30. Davis will share his vision for the national restoration company and why owning a franchise in Little Rock could be the start of a career with unlimited potential for personal, professional and financial growth; Bauer will share about his experience as a PuroClean franchise owner, why he joined the brand, and the positive impact it has had on his life.

The events will be held at Marriott Little Rock, 3 Statehouse Plaza, Little Rock, Arkansas. The first event will take place at 12 p.m., while the second will be at 6:30 p.m.

Little Rock is one of 11 new markets PuroClean has targeted for expansion due to high demand for restoration services. With more than 230 units in its franchise network, PuroClean is projected to add 40 new franchise owners across the United States, growing the network to nearly 300 in 2016. PuroClean also has 32 franchises in Canada.

“When damage occurs, property owners file claims with their insurance companies, who in turn refer and pay a professional restoration company to clean up and mitigate the damage. Situations like this arise at any time, making our business constantly in demand,” Davis said. “Our PuroClean franchise owners manage a crew to do the work, spend their time marketing the business, and establish relationships with the insurance agencies that drive business to PuroClean.”

More than 50,000 water damage losses occur per day in the United States, as well as $21.6 million in daily fire damage losses. Overall, around the country, the restoration industry is a $170 billion industry. Davis noted that while many people associate cleanup and restoration with large-scale natural disasters, a significant share of calls for PuroClean service stems from common household and business mishaps such as overflowing washing machines, freezing, bursting or leaking pipes, mold growth in high humidity conditions that ensue after a water loss, and kitchen fires. About 37 percent of American homeowners claim water damage through their insurance company. In fact, water damage claims are growing faster than any other component of homeowner’s insurance, according to the American Insurance Association.

“PuroClean is known as the ‘Paramedics of Property Damage’ for a reason,” said Steve White, president and COO of PuroClean. “Our franchise owners are the everyday heroes that help restore properties and help get people’s lives back to normal.”
