Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar Raises $25,000 for Special Olympics

Dallas-Based Casual Dining Brand Bands Together to Raise Funds for Special Olympics

September 20, 2016 // Franchising.com // DALLAS – Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar’s (Boston’s) non-profit organization, the Boston’s Pizza Foundation, raised $25,000 for Special Olympics Inc. throughout the month of August. The funds were raised between the 29 locations across the country through the Foundation’s new Kid’s Cards Campaign.

This year marked the first partnership between the Boston’s Pizza Foundation and Special Olympics, the world’s largest organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Kid’s Cards were available at all Boston’s locations in exchange for a $5 donation, with 90 percent of the proceeds benefitted Special Olympics.  Guests can redeem their Kid’s Cards for five free Kid’s Meals through the end of 2016.

“We are honored to have partnered with an organization that positively impacts the lives of so many people throughout the United States and globally, and we hope to continue this partnership in years to come,” said Troy Cooper, Chief Operating Officer of Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar. “Boston’s is a strong supporter of giving back to the community, so we especially loved that the funds raised went directly back to the communities where they were donated from.”

Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar’s U.S. operations are based in Dallas and the company currently has 29 locations operating in 22 states. Boston’s is currently ranked amongst the America’s best franchises and for the second year in a row, ranked on Entrepreneur magazine’s ‘Top Global Franchise’ list, and No. 89 on the 2015 Franchise Times Top 200 (Plus 300) list.

“Special Olympics empowers over 5 million athletes worldwide, and generous donations like Boston’s truly change the game for our athletes. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Boston’s and improving the lives of people with intellectual disabilities,” said Chad Jones, Vice President of Business Development for Special Olympics.
