Bruster’s Real Ice Cream Inks Franchise Deals for 15 New Stores

Premium frozen treat chain growing in California, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas

PITTSBURGH - September 20, 2016 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Bruster’s Real Ice Cream will soon be scooped in several new cities nationwide, as the premium frozen treat chain’s rapid expansion continues. Additional stores also are coming to existing Bruster’s markets, with both new and current franchisees recently signing development deals.

The announcement of 15 new locations comes as Bruster’s, with approximately 200 domestic and international units, continues to break sales records. Bruster’s comp sales have been up 13 consecutive quarters, with year-to-date sales up more than eight percent. The brand has opened eight locations so far in 2016.

“A combination of record sales and consistent recognition locally and nationally that Bruster’s really is one of America’s favorite places for ice cream has created tremendous buzz in the franchise industry,” said CEO Jim Sahene. He added that in 2015, 66 stores achieved all-time high sales volumes.

Ice cream lovers in the Memphis, Tennessee, area will enjoy Bruster’s for the first time with Garosa Partners, LLC signing a franchise agreement for three locations there, as well as for ones in Jackson, Tennessee, and Tupelo and Oxford, Mississippi.

In Southern California, current franchisee Larry Johnson signed an agreement for his third store, which is under construction in Huntington Beach. RTC Group, LLC, a new franchisee, will open a unit in Redondo Beach, while OTP Enterprises, LLC, also new to Bruster’s, is preparing to build a store in Garden Grove. Another new Southern California franchisee, Hithasoft, LLC, signed an agreement for a Los Angeles store, with its location to be determined.

The Houston area will see its third Bruster’s, which is being opened by Larry Lakind, who owns a store in Cypress, Texas. In Pittsburgh, PBJC, Inc. is developing a new restaurant in Robinson Township and has signed an agreement for an additional store in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.

The Atlanta area is getting two more Bruster’s. Current franchisees Johnny and Grace Gil have opened in Duluth; it is their second restaurant. JR&CK Enterprises & Assoc., Inc., also a current franchisee, will build its second Bruster’s on Cascade Road.
