Burger 21 Goes Pink In October By Donating Portion Of Sales From Each Shake, Float & Fountain Drink Sold To Fight Breast Cancer

Award-Winning Fast Casual Restaurant Partners with National Breast Cancer Foundation

TAMPA, Fla. - Sept. 30, 2016 // PRNewswire // - Burger 21®, an award-winning, "beyond the better burger" fast casual franchise, is breaking out the pink straws in October to support the fight against breast cancer. The burger brand is partnering with National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) during the month of October to donate $.21 from each sale of fountain drinks, signature and classic shakes, retro floats and kids fountain drinks, shakes and milks. Any beverage that sports a pink straw applies.

All Burger 21 restaurants are participating in the fundraiser and encourage guests to visit their local restaurant during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Proceeds will help support early detection, education, support services and research for those affected by breast cancer – a disease that more than 240,000 women in the United States are diagnosed with each year.

"We are thrilled to partner with National Breast Cancer Foundation and join a cause that fights a disease, which affects 1 in 8 women in the nation," said Mark Johnston, president and founder of Burger 21. "Every day, Burger 21 serves thousands of families who may have been impacted in some way by breast cancer. We hope that loyal guests and new patrons will visit one of our restaurants this month, order a drink or shake and help contribute to fighting breast cancer."

Burger 21 locations feature 21 unique, chef-inspired beef and non-beef burger creations, like the Tex-Mex Haystack, Spicy Thai Shrimp, Black Bean and Mediterranean Chicken. The restaurants also offer fresh salads, hand-crafted shakes, a gluten-free menu, as well as craft beer and wine by the glass. Additionally, on the 21st of each month, the restaurants introduce a new featured burger creation and signature shake available for an entire month. Burger 21 is open seven days a week.
