Delaware Prepares for Its 2nd Helping of Zoup!

Popular fast-casual fresh soup restaurant set for Nov. 17 grand opening in Newark.

November 16, 2016 // Franchising.com // NEWARK, DE – Fresh soup lovers in Delaware got their first taste of the high-quality, healthy soup recipes made popular by Zoup! roughly three years ago when the fast-casual brand made its debut in Wilmington.

Now, husband and wife franchise owners Eric and Dia Ames are bringing Newark residents a Zoup! of their own!

On Thursday, Nov. 17, Delaware’s second Zoup! will celebrate its grand opening in the Christiana Fashion Center. The restaurant is located at 2136 Fashion Center Blvd. in Newark.

“We’re thrilled to bring Zoup!’s award-winning recipes to residents, workers and shoppers in and around the Christiana Fashion Center,” said Dia Ames. “Zoup! has a very loyal following in Wilmington, and we believe our new location in Newark will help satisfy the craving for fresh, delicious soup here too, just as the cold weather arrives.”

Prior to its official grand opening, the Ameses will host two fundraisers at their new Zoup! The first, Tuesday from 5 – 8 p.m., benefited the Gallaher Elementary School PTA. The second, today, also from 5- 8 p.m., will benefit Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. For a $5 donation, customers will enjoy a bowl of their favorite soup, a big hunk of fresh-baked bread and a small fountain drink, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefitting the respective partner groups.

“We’re very pleased to host two pre-opening fundraisers to support the wonderful work being done by both of these great organizations,” said Eric Ames. “I hope lots of folks turn out to enjoy some delicious soup and help us raise funds to support both the school and the hospital.”

Zoup! features hundreds of award-winning soup recipes with 12 rotating daily varieties, including low-fat, low-cal, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free options, all served with a hunk of freshly baked bread. Customer favorites include Chicken Potpie, Lobster Bisque and Vegetarian Split Pea. The menu also features made-to-order salads and sandwiches, and all menu items are available in convenient catering sizes for groups of 10 or more.

To help customers select from the daily soups, sampling is encouraged. And, for those looking to save time, a daily soup menu and online ordering are available. Customers also can sign up online to receive a daily email menu.
