JDog Junk Removal & Hauling Celebrates Momentous Year, Anticipates Adding 300 Veteran Jobs in 2017

Nation’s Only U.S. Military Brand Ends the Year with More than 131 Franchises in 29 States

BERWYN, Pa. - January 10, 2017 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - After more than tripling its size in 2016, breaking into several new states and high-profile U.S. cities, JDog Junk Removal & Hauling, a company dedicated to increasing post-military career opportunities for veterans, will continue rapid expansion in 2017 through franchising.

In the coming year, JDog plans to open 75 new franchises, with growth fueled by franchise deals set to bring JDog services to new metro areas including, Detroit, MI; Naples, FL; St. Louis, MO; and Alexandria, VA. In the first quarter of 2017, JDog will open in San Antonio, TX; Tampa, FL; and Fort Knox, KY, among other areas.

In addition to offering business ownership opportunities to veterans throughout 2016, JDog established an important partnership with the VA’s therapeutic Veterans’ employment program, Compensated Work Therapy (CWT), to provide additional work opportunities for veterans. The brand was also selected as a Veteran-Owned Small Business by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and debuted the addition of JDog Handyman, a handyman branch of the company.

“This was a record year for the JDog franchise in terms of the growth we achieved and the support we received from customers and organizations across the nation,” said Jerry Flanagan, CEO and founder of JDog. “In the year ahead, we hope to go beyond our mission of offering business ownership to veterans, and employ hundreds of veterans through new partnerships and additional JDog services.”

Last year, JDog debuted in 20 new states, including Oklahoma, New York, Indiana, Rhode Island, Ohio, Virginia, Arizona and Georgia, propelling the total number of franchises from 33 to 131.

Flanagan was also recognized as 2016 Franchise Vetrepreneur® of the Year by the National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA), and Philly/Jersey Man Magazine also named him 2016 Man of the Year, showcasing the company’s commitment to veterans on both the national and local level.

JDog recycles and repurposes a substantial amount of the collected material. The Philadelphia-based company works closely with local and national organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, and local schools, churches and hospitals to donate useful items to those in need.
