Corelife Eatery Cements Its First Franchisee

Agreement Will Bring Up To 51 Of The Active Lifestyle Restaurants To The Midwest

January 17, 2017 // Franchising.com // Stevensville, Michigan – Since the first CoreLife Eatery opened its doors in May 2015 in Syracuse, New York, the restaurant has surfaced in numerous communities throughout the Northeast. The company recently announced that they will be franchising CoreLife Eatery, bringing a good tasting and affordable healthy eating alternative to communities around the country. As part of that commitment, the executive team at CoreLife Eatery is pleased to announce that the active lifestyle restaurant will be expanding into the Midwest with the announcement of its first franchisee, experienced restaurateur Joyce Lunsford. Lunsford, a Michigan native, has been in the quick service restaurant business for many years and owns nearly 50 franchise restaurants including Pizza Hut, Sonic and Moe’s Southwest Grill.

“Over the years, I have always tried to find good concepts,” commented Joyce Lunsford. “CoreLife Eatery is a unique brand where the focus is on the quality and the food, which is rare nowadays within the restaurant industry. The customization of the interior and exterior, the focus on health and wellness, the energy from the moment you walk in the doors….I just think there are so many exciting benefits of the concept.”

From Lunford’s corporate office in Stevensville, Michigan, her initial plans call for 25-30 CoreLife Eatery locations throughout Michigan and possibly into Indiana. The first Michigan location will be Bucktown, a suburb of Grand Rapids, and is slated for an April 2017 opening. Future restaurants are slated to open in the suburban areas of Ann Arbor and Detroit as well as other locations to be determined throughout the State. Lunford’s franchise agreement is for 51 CoreLife Eatery locations over the next eight years.

Given the brand’s ‘change your lunch, change your life’ health-focused philosophy as well as the extreme focus on food and restaurant quality, the franchise team at CoreLife Eatery is very selective during the vetting process for franchisees. The CoreLife Eatery executive team is looking forward to the partnership with Lunsford and feel that her restaurant pedigree as well as her excitement regarding the brand will be key success factors for her as a CoreLife Eatery franchisee.

“Ms. Lunsford has experienced tremendous success within the restaurant world for many years. She is one of the best franchisees/owner-operators in the country and we are proud to have her as a part of the team. From our very first visit together, Ms. Lunsford demonstrated genuine interest and admiration for CoreLife Eatery and its vision and we feel she is the best representative of the brand for the State of Michigan and beyond,” commented Aric Phinney, Franchise Administrator for CoreLife Eatery.

Construction is set to begin for the first Michigan CoreLife Eatery location in Bucktown in the coming weeks. An exact opening date for the Bucktown restaurant will be announced in late winter or early spring.

With greens, grains and bone broth as basic building blocks, CoreLife Eatery focuses on food first through high-level customization of menu items. The single line service system and a narrowly defined menu structure allow for maximum interaction with guests, which virtually eliminates order error or surprise. Simultaneously, there is great profit potential because of the simplicity of their ingredients and the end-to-end use of all vegetables, proteins and add-ons. Dressings, broths and beverages are made from scratch every day in each location so there is a noticeable differentiation from other dining alternatives.

Four essential pillars set CoreLife Eatery apart from competitors in the market place - quality of ingredients and fresh prepared recipes, the specialness of our eatery space driven by our design and choice of materials, our commitment to training before, during and after eatery openings and our connection to our “audience of influencers” through social media and local outreach. CoreLife Eatery uses social media to reinforce its strong position with its customers, boasting an impressive level of audience satisfaction that is at the top of the industry.

Potential franchisees must show evidence of successful experience and an established infrastructure in multi-unit franchising, including but not limited to back office support, training, operations and leadership.

Franchisees must demonstrate financial ability to open Eateries based on development agreements. CoreLife Eatery has a deep sense of community and expects franchisees to embody that same philosophy. For more information on franchising opportunities, please visit http://eatatcore.com/franchising/.
