Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids to Open First Salon in Raleigh

Children’s haircut franchise looks to put families at ease with fun haircut experience.

March 31, 2017 // Franchising.com // SALT LAKE CITY – Children’s haircuts can be shear torture for both parents and kids, but the new Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids located at 6300 Creedmoor Rd. in Raleigh, opening April 3, hopes to alleviate some of that stress.

“As a father living in the Raleigh area, I’m excited to introduce Cookie Cutters to the families in our community. We’re armed with a team of equally talented and passionate stylists, and we’re looking forward to providing kids with a fun-filled, welcoming environment,” said co-owner Matt Murphy.

Prior to opening a Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids salon in Raleigh with his wife, Angela, Matt held an extensive 23-year career in the finance industry. He attended the University of Scranton, where he was a member of the Symphonic and Jazz Bands, and obtained a degree in English. Angela is a graduate of Montreat College in Charlotte, NC, where she received a degree in Business Administration. In addition to bringing her business management expertise to the Cookie Cutters team, Angela serves as an office manager for a North Carolina-based eye-care company. Matt and Angela plan to open two additional locations over the next 18 to 24 months.

Cookie Cutters prides itself in its ability to cater to the needs of all children, including those with special needs or sensory needs. All stylists will receive special training provided by professionals from the Autism community.

One of the first children-only hair salons in the United States, Cookie Cutters offers an interactive haircut experience that both children and parents won’t soon forget. Upon entering the salons, children encounter an in-store playground where they can climb and slide. Come time for the haircut, each station on the cutting floor is outfitted with unique fantasy chairs – from race cars to motorcycles, firetrucks to airplanes – as well as televisions for the kids to watch shows or play video games. With a balloon, sucker and a smile at the end of each haircut, the Cookie Cutters experience is designed to keep children coming back again and again.

“We fell in love with the Cookie Cutters concept and its successful business model right away,” said Angela. “As parents, providing kids in our community with an enjoyable salon experience is our number one priority.”

Cookie Cutters in Raleigh is open Monday through Friday from 9 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., Saturday from 9:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M., and Sunday from noon to 5:00 P.M. For more information or to book an appointment, please call (919) 581-5008.

Including a franchise fee of $35,000, the total investment to open a single unit Cookie Cutters salon is $90,500 to $261,000. Franchisees can add a second location for an additional $20,000, three or more locations for an additional $10,000 each.
