PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans Signs First Multi-Unit Franchise Agreement in Texas

PJ’s grows Texas presence with 10-store agreement in Houston + surrounding areas.

April 18, 2017 // Franchising.com // NEW ORLEANS, La. - PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans has signed its first multi-unit franchise agreement with Texas Franchisee, Mike Price, the current owner of PJ’s third location in Texas at the Conroe Regional Medical Center in Houston. The multi-unit agreement includes the development of Price’s second location in Cypress (set to open at the end of this year), along with eight additional locations in the designated areas of North Harris County and South Montgomery County over the next six years - reaching 10 total locations. This agreement includes growth into Magnolia, Tomball, The Woodlands, and Kingwood/Humble, TX.

Price, a retired project manager in the oil and gas industry, has over 30 years of experience managing successful projects for various clients, including BP and Arena Offshore. His passion for business and high-quality coffee brought him to the PJ’s team to discuss franchising opportunities.

Founded in 1978 with its first locations in New Orleans, La., PJ’s Coffee is now located across the U.S. in seven states, and beyond with two international locations in Vietnam. PJ’s is slated to hit its 100th location this year.

PJ’s Coffee currently has two Texas locations: The Royal Sonesta Houston (2222 West Loop South, Houston, TX 77027) and the Conroe Regional Medical Center (504 Medical Center Blvd, Conroe, TX 77304) - the latter is owned by Price.

All Texas coffeehouse locations are open to both visiting guests and the general public serving hot and iced coffee, tea, pastries and more.

The first PJ’s included in the franchise agreement (Conroe Regional Medical Center) features a wide selection of beverages and food- PJ’s Original Cold Brew Ice Coffee, hot coffee, frozen beverages, organic tea and freshly baked pastries. Customers can purchase PJ’s whole-bean coffee bags, single serve cups and PJ’s signature bottled Iced Coffee Concentrate in-store, allowing coffee-lovers to enjoy their favorite combinations from their own homes.
