May 12, 2017 // Franchising.com // SUNRISE, FL - Interim HealthCare nurses at franchise locations across the country are being recognized as part of this year’s national Nurses Week celebrated annually May 6th thru 12th. Interim, a leader in home care, hospice and healthcare staffing, has more than 300 independently owned franchise locations in 44 states that provide nursing, therapy and non-medical home care, hospice and healthcare staffing services. Interim's independent franchisees employ 40,000 health care workers and provide nurses, therapists, aides and other health care personnel to approximately 50,000 people annually.

“Nurses have been an essential part of the success of Interim HealthCare throughout the years,” said Larry Kraska, Interim HealthCare Inc. CEO and President. “We’re proud to take this opportunity to recognize them for their outstanding contribution. We’re also proud of the fact that 43 of our franchisees are nurses. I hope everyone will join us in recognizing these outstanding men and women in communities across the country and thank them for improving people’s lives every day.”

Jennifer Ballard, Chief Clinical Officer of Interim HealthCare Inc. also announced the winner of the national “Nurse of the Year” award. “Once again, the competition was incredible this year with more nominations for exceptional nurses in every part of our network, said Ballard. “The professionalism, compassion and dedication of all the nurses that were nominated was indeed humbling and I’m pleased to reveal that this year’s winner is Josie Rudd, LPN from the Pueblo, Colorado franchise.” Tracy Culwell, the Director of Healthcare Services for Interim HealthCare of Pueblo, Colorado said that her nomination letter for Josie Rudd didn’t even begin to describe the depth of skill and compassion Josie has for her patients.

This is the 17th year that Interim HealthCare has conducted a “Nurse of the Year” contest among its 300 plus franchise locations. To be considered as a nominee for Nurse of the Year, applicants must be an employee of Interim HealthCare for more than one year, provide exemplary nursing service to their patients and demonstrate qualities of excellence and caring.

Annually, National Nurses Week begins on May 6 and ends on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, founder of nursing as a modern profession. During this week, nurses at Interim HealthCare offices across the country will be recognized in a variety of ways.
