FIT36® Announces Chicago Market Expansion Plans

Fast-Growing Fitness Franchise Brand Targets 20 New Locations in Greater-Chicago Area

June 15, 2017 // Franchising.com // Highlands Ranch, Colo. – Jeff Jervik, chairman and CEO of WellBiz Brands, Inc. – the manager of health and wellness brands FIT36® Elements Massage® and Fitness Together® - has announced expansion plans for the FIT36® brand in the Chicago-metro area. This announcement comes on the heels of a local FIT36 in-market seminar for prospective franchise owners held in Northbrook on May 23, 2017. The brand currently has a location in Gurnee and another in Lincoln Park soon to come, and is actively pursuing qualified franchise owners to expand its local market footprint, with a total of 20 identified trade areas available for select franchise candidates.

Bolstering this aggressive growth plan are the rankings of “boutique fitness” and “functional training systems” among the top three health and wellness trends for 2017, according to a recent report by The International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA), published on ClubIndustry.com. Additionally, gym memberships grew 18.6 percent between 2008 and 2014, and the upward trend continued from 2015 to 2016, as reported by IHRSA.

“Fitness consumers are increasingly busy and shifting their workouts to high intensity interval training (HIIT), which is a more effective method of circuit training that FIT36® is based on,” said Jervik. “Our signature 36-minute workout that is as motivating and quick-moving as it is effective, combined with an increasing local demand for our services, and an unparalleled client experience, makes the brand exciting and well-poised for incredible growth in the greater Chicago area. The simple business model presents a highly appealing opportunity for local entrepreneurs and those interested in owning their own business in the market.”

In the most recent International Fitness Industry Trend Report by ACE, IHRSA and ClubIntel, HIIT group exercise classes, small group training, boot camp-style training and functional resistance training - methods employed by FIT36® - all achieved a high level of adoption in the fitness industry and continue to show above average growth. The brand’s franchise system added new studios last year in California, Colorado, New Jersey and Virginia and is projecting approximately 15 additional franchise licenses awarded this year across the country.

“The response to FIT36® that we have received in this market since opening earlier this year has been excellent and we continue to convert guests into members,” said Alex Mueller, Gurnee/Third Lake franchise owner, who plans to open additional FIT36 locations in the Greater Chicago area. Mueller’s career with WellBiz Brands, Inc. - starting as a Fitness Together® trainer in Wisconsin - spans 12 years.

“The demographics of this market substantiate many more FIT36® studios and the foundation has already been laid,” said Mueller. “From my perspective as a franchise owner, the business is scalable and there is a support system in place with a proven roadmap and tools for achieving recurring revenue. The FIT36® method is well-suited for a busy city lifestyle, fun and effective, and that is what keeps clients engaged and makes FIT36® a great business to own.”

FIT36® is actively pursuing franchise owners to operate in major markets such as Denver, Sacramento and Phoenix, in addition to Chicago. To learn more about FIT36® or to inquire about franchise ownership opportunities, please visit www.fit36franchise.com.
