Urban Float to Open Largest Float Pod Facility in United States

Seattle-based hydro-therapy floatation spa franchise set to open new location at Capitol Hill

July 21, 2017 // Franchising.com // SEATTLE, Wash. – Urban Float – a hydro-therapy floatation spa franchise based in Seattle – has announced plans to open the country’s largest float pod facility. The corporate-owned spa will be filled with sound-controlled pods containing 200 gallons of purified water and over 1,200 pounds of Epsom salt. Located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, this will be the company’s fourth location in the Seattle market.

Slated to open this fall, the 4,000+ square-foot, nine-pod floatation spa will be located at 1121 East Union Street in Seattle at the junction of 12th Avenue and Madison/Union, in the triangle building across from Ferrari of Seattle.

“We are truly thrilled to be opening the largest float pod-only floatation-therapy spa in the country,” said Urban Float Founder Joe Beaudry. “Demand for float spas is continuing to grow rapidly nationwide, and Urban Float is proud to continue offering a sleek, high-end flotation-therapy experience at an affordable price.”

Urban Float is a hydro-therapy floatation spa franchise featuring light- and sound-controlled pods, creating a relaxing and reenergizing experience that renews the body, refreshes the mind, and revives the senses. Floating offers many proven health benefits, including decreased stress, depression, anxiety and pain, and increased sleep quality, optimism, focus and mindfulness.

During flotation therapy, an individual is suspended effortlessly in a super-saturated solution of Epsom salt and water. Guests float in a light- and sound-managed environment that reduces sensory stimulation and effectively suspends the effects of gravity on the central nervous system. The water is warmed to skin temperature and clinical studies have shown that resting in this unique environment has significant mental, emotional, and physical benefits.

“Our ultimate goal is to mainstream flotation therapy – we want to bring the wonderful, proven benefits to as many people as we can,” added Urban Float Founder and Chairman Scott Swerland. “We are continuing to perfect our systems and expand throughout Washington, and have signed seven new Franchise locations in Houston, Texas. We intend to continue growing in major markets across the United States, and are focusing on markets in Colorado, California’s Bay Area, San Diego and Los Angeles over the next year.”

With five locations throughout Washington, the company is looking to expand its national footprint with as many as 25 signed franchise agreements over the next two years.

To augment the company’s growth, Urban Float is currently seeking both single-unit and multi-unit franchisees. With a franchise fee of $40,000, the total investment to own and operate an Urban Float franchise is approximately $525,000 to $820,000, depending on the number of floatation pods.
