sweetFrog Frozen Yogurt Launches Newest Location at Fort Belvoir

Tim Barber Brings the Nation’s Leading Frozen Yogurt Chain to the U.S. Army installation in Virginia

December 04, 2017 // Franchising.com // Fort Belvoir, VA - sweetFrog Frozen Yogurt, the nation’s leading frozen yogurt chain, named America’s Best Frozen Yogurt by The Daily Meal, and a Top New Franchise by Entrepreneur Magazine, is opening a new store exclusive to those living and working on Fort Belvoir in March 2018. This new sweetFrog’s 15th location in Northern Virginia.

sweetFrog’s first store to open on a military installation will be owned by Tim Barber. Barber is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He brings 11 years of military service and an additional 15 years with the Department of Defense to the company.

Barber says sweetFrog was the perfect fit for his next entrepreneurial journey because he loves the company’s community first values and believes in how much the concept resonates with members of the military of all ages.

“We see what’s happening outside of the base regarding the popularity of frozen yogurt,” says Barber. “sweetFrog is the best in the industry and its name recognition is second to none. There are several sweetFrog locations in the area, so we know they’re frequented by many military people and bringing it directly to this closed population just makes sense for us.”

Barber continued.

“sweetFrog fills an important niche food demand within the military market. The brand is well recognized in many parts of the country, and we're confident that it will be well received by the military community. As an Air Force Veteran with over 26 years-service and as a military member and DOD civilian, my company is proud to offer a product of sweetFrog's caliber to the US Military, Retirees, and their Family members.”

sweetFrog’s CEO, Patrick Galleher, is excited Tim Barber is joining the sweetFrog franchise family and believes the company’s frozen yogurt concept is a perfect fit for the Fort Belvoir community.

“We are thrilled Tim Barber is opening our first sweetFrog location on a military installation, particularly so close to Washington, D.C.,” says Galleher. “After working with the Air Force and Department of Defense for 26 years, Barber possesses the perfect skill set to quickly become a successful sweetFrog owner. And we’re thrilled to know he plans to expand and add sweetFrog stores on multiple military bases. We expect Barber to flourish as a sweetFrog owner, especially in communities defined by brave and honorable residents.”
