One River School Plans to Open Four Locations in Portland, Oregon Area

Innovative art school franchise announces its first west coast development deal.

March 02, 2018 // Franchising.com // ENGLEWOOD, N.J. - One River School of Art + Design announced it will open its first west coast location this spring in Lake Oswego, Oregon. The New Jersey based franchisor has partnered with local resident David Kabaker who anticipates a May launch for the school, located at 15010 SW Bandy Road in Lake Oswego. Kabaker plans to open three more Portland area locations over the next few years.

Kabaker’s passion for serving his community is a major driver for him. “One River will have a big impact in Lake Oswego and throughout the Portland area on kids and adults who want a special place to learn to make art and have fun doing so,” said Kabaker. “I also like the idea of providing jobs and a career path here for artists who have traditionally had limited options,” he added.

The company is on a mission to “transform art education” and has more than 12 new schools under development nationwide. One River’s proprietary method for teaching art & design offers exceptional learning experiences for people of all ages that has helped them garner critical acclaim nationally.
