NOVUS Glass Celebrates Excellence at the 2018 NOVUS Conference in Lake Las Vegas, NV

March 28, 2018 // Franchising.com // This Spring, NOVUS Glass held its biennial NOVUS Conference in Lake Las Vegas, NV. Franchisees, business partners, and vendors from around the world came together to witness the new direction, new vision and new opportunities for NOVUS Glass.

The first NOVUS Glass conference backed by Fix Auto World, was kicked off by Key Note Speaker and Fix Auto World President Steve Leal. “Driven to Win” was the theme for the conference, and Steve ruminated on that: “What does it mean to be driven to win? Well, when I think of NOVUS, I think innovation. From Frank Werner inventing windshield repair to eventually becoming an international franchising operation, that, to me, is what defines NOVUS Glass: the drive to innovate.”

A highlight of the conference was the NOVUS awards gala. The event recognizes top performing franchisees and showcases NOVUS’ newest Hall of Fame inductees. This year, NOVUS welcomed two new members to the Hall of Fame, NOVUS Franchisees Jim Perkins and Steve Moore. For over 30 years Jim has been providing the Las Vegas area with quality NOVUS Glass Repairs. He shared how NOVUS and his fellow franchise network played a major role in the success of his business. “I couldn’t have done it without everyone in this room,” Jim said as he addressed the audience, “nobody gets to the Hall of Fame alone.” Steve Moore, a 35-year NOVUS veteran, built a successful and thriving NOVUS Glass business in Vail. CO. As he now transitions to retirement, he is looking forward to acting as a mentor to the new owners of his business. Steve was optimistic for their future: “After seeing what’s in store for NOVUS, I’m not worried one bit. They’re going to be in good hands.”

NOVUS’ top award, Franchisee of the Year, went to Gary and Eileen Neves out of Concord and Davis, California. Ted Andersen, VP of Operations for NOVUS Glass, spoke to why the Neves were deserving: “They’re never too comfortable. Automotive, flat glass, trying new tools, software, and vendors – the Neves are always looking for that edge.”

Setting a precedence on the importance of giving back to our local communities, NOVUS Glass announced a new corporate partnership with the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Modeling after an established program between Fix Auto World and RMHC Canada, the NOVUS network will be participating and supporting the mission of the RMHC throughout the U.S. In addition, they donated their time to Impact4Good, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide opportunities for companies to give back to the communities they operate in.

Getting to work right away, conference attendees teamed up with local students from the organization Communities in Schools of Nevada, to create “green” solar cars, race them and then assemble additional kits to donate to the local RMHC and area schools. The purpose of the programs allows students to learn more about early engineering, environmental conservation, alternative energy, and green transportation via hands on STEM education kits. Tami Hance, Resource and Development Director at CIS Nevada, went on to say later, “Amazed. Inspired. Grateful. That’s how your generosity makes us feel. Your impact continues to make a difference outside the ballroom. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to partner, please know that we will continue to invest in these students, and never give up.”

The 2018 NOVUS Glass Conference ended with technical training sessions and the largest vendor fair to date, leaving attendees with a full package of knowledge, tools and direction to further grow and optimize their business.
