Ziggi’s Coffee Expands To The East Coast With New Franchisees
The Founder’s Family Members are Investing in the Colorado-Based Coffee Concept and Bringing it to Pennsylvania
April 06, 2018 // Franchising.com // LONGMONT, COLO. - Ziggi’s Coffee (www.ZiggisCoffee.com) is expanding to the East Coast with the founder’s family members at the helm. Ziggi’s Co-Founder Brandon Knudsen has full trust in his cousin Shawn Palinkas, brother Adam Knudsen, and sister-in-law Jolene Knudsen to bring the drive-thru coffee concept to Pennsylvania.
As franchisees and equal partners in the business, Shawn will oversee day-to-day operations at the new location once it’s built, while Adam and Jolene will take on administrative and financial planning responsibilities. This is the first location for the Colorado-based company, outside of the Midwest and West Coast where the company has been experiencing rapid growth over the past years.
“Brandon has created a brand identity for Ziggi’s that is going to be huge out here in Pennsylvania,” said Shawn. “The company is totally focused on the customer and they make speed of service a priority. I’m excited to bring that same Ziggi’s culture to the East Coast and to introduce people to the quality coffee and inviting environment Ziggi’s has to offer.”
Brandon, Shawn and Adam all grew up in California together but Shawn and Adam eventually moved to the East Coast with their families, while Brandon laid down roots in Colorado and began his business with his wife Camrin. All business-minded individuals, Shawn, Adam and Jolene had each been looking to invest in something when they realized the answer was just a phone call away.
“Initially, my wife Jolene and I were looking into purchasing a rental property to create revenue that would help us plan for retirement,” said Adam. “But when we saw the potential of the Ziggi’s drive-thru and how well things were going for the company in Colorado, we decided to shift gears and do this.”
Shawn shared that sentiment. “When Brandon started franchising the company, it just made sense to invest our money into bringing Ziggi’s to Pennsylvania,” he said. “We’re not going to be a one and done type of deal. Our goal is to open as many as possible.”
Shawn, Adam and Jolene are now in the process of locating the site for their first location in the Lehigh Valley area, near Allentown, Penn.
Working as a team, the three of them say they are looking forward to expanding the family business and investing in their futures.
Adam admitted, “I’m just excited about business ownership and getting to be my own boss.”
