Expedia® CruiseShipCenters’® Three-Day Event Raises Over $25,000 for Breast Cancer Research and Awareness

December 19, 2018 // Franchising.com // Bellevue, Wash. - The top cruise travel agency franchise in North America, Expedia CruiseShipCenters, continues to generously support its charity of choice, breast cancer research and awareness. Through fundraising initiatives at the corporate and franchise level, in addition to a matched donation from Expedia Group, the company has raised more than $25,000 for the cause at its recent Anchor Meeting - contributing to its year-to-date total of more than $288,000.

The Expedia CruiseShipCenters corporate team and network of over 300 Franchise Partners all recently gathered in West Palm Beach, Fla. for the highly anticipated Anchor Meeting to discuss business best practices and the future of the cruise industry. During the three-day event, funds were raised through jewelry auctions, 50/50 cruise raffles, and an online pledge drive. In addition, many Franchise Partners and corporate staff participated in a morning yoga session, decked out in their finest pink attire, to support the cause. As the event came to a close, more than $13,000 was raised, and Expedia Group contributed another $15,000 donation.

“We’ve been raising funds for breast cancer research and awareness for many years. It is a cause near and dear to our hearts as it has impacted our company in many ways,” said Matthew Eichhorst, president of Expedia CruiseShipCenters. “As our organization continues to grow, we look forward to launching even more initiatives and opportunities for our team to get involved. As the network strengthens, we hope to be able to increase the amount we donate each year.”
