Pokeatery Opening Its First East Coast Location in North Carolina

The popular Hawaiian style poké concept will arrive in Charlotte on Saturday, with plans for future expansion

January 10, 2019 // Franchising.com // CHARLOTTE, NC - Pokeatery, the rapidly growing build-your-own poké concept based in California’s Bay Area, will open doors at its first North Carolina location on Saturday, January 12, adding to the concept’s portfolio of three locations in California and one location in Texas. The new site is located at 210 E. Trade Street Suite B226 in Charlotte (on the second level of the EpiCentre).

A grand opening event will be held on Saturday, with the first 100 guests receiving a free poké box, souvenir and a voucher for their next visit. As part of the festivities, diners will also enjoy buy-one-get-one free boxes until closing.

“Charlotte is the perfect fit for Pokeatery’s delicious blend of fresh, bold Hawaiian flavors,” said North Carolina franchisee Lee Sheetrit. “We’re welcoming Charlotte guests to experience the fun, unique experience of building their own poké box and try refreshing favorites like the Dole Whip float at our first East Coast location.”

Pokeatery was founded in 2015 by husband and wife duo, Derek and Joann Chung, and quickly gained notoriety for offering fresh, responsibly-sourced ingredients complemented by authentic Hawaiian flavors. The core menu features completely customizable poké boxes packed with a base, sashimi-grade proteins, and unlimited mix-ins, sauces, and toppings. Additional standouts include the Millennial favorite pokecado toast (whole wheat toast loaded with avocado, fresh poké, and a variety of topping options) and Dole Whip floats (pineapple soft serve in pineapple juice).

Pokeatery is partnered with Fransmart, the industry leading franchise development company behind the explosive growth of brands like Five Guys Burgers and Fries and Qdoba Mexican Grill, as their exclusive franchise development partner to grow the brand. The concept is actively looking for experienced multi-unit foodservice operators to develop additional franchises in major markets across the United States and internationally.
