Massage Envy Launches 2019 Advertising Campaign That Aims to Normalize Routine Massage (and Stretch and Facials)

"Keep Your Body Working" campaign is the first under new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Kathy Collins, Formerly of H&R Block and Lee Jeans

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Jan. 14, 2019 // PRNewswire // - Massage Envy, the leading provider of therapeutic massage and skin care services, today launched its 2019 advertising campaign focusing on educating consumers on the benefits of 'regular massage' as well as routine self-care like stretch and facials as a part of their normal wellness regimen.

"This campaign brings to life how seemingly harmless everyday activities wreak havoc on an otherwise healthy body," said Kathy Collins, chief marketing officer. "We want to encourage the habit of massage and total body care. Not just on special occasions or in periods of extreme stress, but something you should do regularly, like exercising, flossing, drinking water or eating vegetables, to keep your body working."

"Keep Your Body Working" is the first advertising campaign under the direction of Kathy Collins, who took over the role of Chief Marketing Officer at Massage Envy in July of 2018. Kathy Collins is an industry veteran who served in the same role at H&R Block and as Vice President of Marketing, Advertising and Brand at Lee Jeans, successfully elevating both iconic brands and revitalizing them for the modern consumer.

Massage Envy partnered with advertising agency Fallon to create this campaign, which will feature a mix of television, online, radio, digital and social ads. The Minneapolis-based agency was named agency of record in 2018 and has led brand strategy and creative as well as connection planning and social media strategy for this new campaign.

"People see massages as an indulgence, but the reality is that the physical world is stacked against us. Whether we are sitting in chairs, cars, and couches or compulsively looking up or down at our screens, the world is trying very hard to push and reshape our bodies," said Fallon Executive Creative Director Patrick Figueroa. "When seen from that perspective, these seemingly innocuous actions can be quite scary. It's like daily routines have it out for our bodies. So, we created a campaign to show that, and to show how massage as routine self-care is the way we push back."

The campaign will begin January 14th and can be seen on digital, broadcast and social platforms.
