Joins elite Loyalty Circle, which pledges funds to support the university’s athletic programs and student-athletes

January 15, 2019 // Franchising.com // LAS VEGAS - Rachel’s Kitchen, a “fresh casual” restaurant concept that offers a carefully crafted menu, from the healthy to the indulgent, has announced its latest charitable venture in partnership with the Loyalty Circle of University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) to support a student-athlete. Rachel’s Kitchen’s and Ryan Moore’s joint pledge will provide tuition for a student-athlete in one of the universities 17 NCAA Division l teams.

“We are excited to support one of UNLV’s high-achieving student-athletes, and we look forward to creating a lasting partnership with the Loyalty Circle,” said Kent Asaki, Chief Development Officer of Rachel’s Kitchen. “This is an extension of our Friends of Rachel’s program and a continuation of our mission to make Las Vegas a better place, one neighborhood, one person at a time.”

“This contribution is giving the student-athlete an opportunity to excel and go onto greater things whether it’s in their sport or in their career or in their life,” said Ryan Moore, UNLV alumni and professional golfer. While the student recipient of the sponsorship has yet to be announced, Rachel’s Kitchen and Ryan Moore look forward to supporting him or her in their future endeavors at UNLV.

Rachel’s Kitchen’s main platform for giving back, Friends of Rachel’s, currently partners with many different local nonprofits and charitable organizations. In doing so, the restaurant not only helps raise necessary funds, but also raises awareness for a variety of causes, ranging from education and animal causes to health advocacy and child care services. “When I first opened Rachel’s Kitchen I knew giving back would be a part of our DNA and I’m so proud of the work we have done,” said Debbie Roxarzade, founder and CEO of Rachel’s Kitchen.

This pledge is part of UNLV’s Drive for 5 campaign. Chaired by Ryan Moore, UNLV Athletics is embarking on a philanthropic scholarship campaign to double its current donor base to 5,000 members. Titled, the Drive for 5, this campaign will move the department from the bottom half of the Mountain West to the top tier in overall donor count. Within the Drive for 5 campaign, the Loyalty Circle is UNLV Athletics' Premier Student-Athlete Support Program. Funds invested are used exclusively to position its student-athletes to graduate as leaders, win championships and excel in all that they do.
