Julie Bilyeu Opens Caring Transitions in Winston Salem, NC

Bilyeu’s journey to Caring Transitions started with her own experience with her mom. “My mom would be in and out of the hospital for a week or two weeks and then she’s go to rehab. When she got home, she wouldn’t take her medication or eat right and the whole cycle could start over. When it happened the last time, we suddenly realized she couldn’t go home. Medicaid would pay for 21 days of rehab, so we had 21 days to find her a nice place that she could afford near her home in Georgia, clear out her apartment and get her moved. Although we had talked about this happening at some point, we weren’t prepared for it at all and it was a crazy three weeks.
