School Of Rock Lafayette, L.A. Ready To Rock N’ Roll

Grand Opening event includes ceremonial guitar smashing, performances, door prizes, demo classes and more

June 12, 2019 // Franchising.com // Lafayette, L.A. - School of Rock, a leader in performance-based music education, announces the grand opening of its newest school in the Lafayette, Louisiana community. The grand opening event will take place at 116 Rena Drive in Lafayette from 4pm to 6pm on Saturday, June 15th, 2019. Along with a ceremonial guitar smashing (School of Rock’s version of a ribbon-cutting), it will be an evening filled with live music featuring performances by School of Rock Lafayette and School of Rock Baton Rouge students, school tours, lesson demos, and $1,000 in door prizes.

School of Rock Lafayette is owned and operated by Scott Feehan and Joe Gary, who both have extensive backgrounds in music. Together, they opened up Acadiana School of the Arts in 2001, to offer music education and one-of-a-kind performance opportunities, like Rock Camp, the biggest rock camp in the South, to young musicians of Lafayette and the surrounding areas. Earlier this year, they decided to convert to a School of Rock in order to complement their current offerings, as well as provide students more opportunities to perform and compete with other students around the world.

“We are thrilled to now be part of the School of Rock family and the opportunity this provides for our students to perform regionally, compete with students from all over the world, and showcase their talent within the music industry with School of Rock’s partnerships with Atlantic Records and Artist Partner Group (APG),” said Feehan. “To build on the success of Acadiana School of the Arts and add School of Rock’s global footprint is special for all involved.”

School of Rock provides students of all ages an exciting and engaging music lesson experience, which includes guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons and piano lessons. Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Frank Zappa. Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior musical proficiency, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol, The Voice and Broadway.

“Acadiana School of the Arts is the first existing school to ever be converted into a School of Rock, which is a testament to the work that Scott and Joe have put into cultivating a strong music community in Lafayette,” said Rob Price, CEO of School of Rock. “We look forward to helping them build on the tremendous success they have already achieved with School of Rock’s same like-minded performance-driven approach to music education.”
