Hwy 55 Opens Second Restaurant in Helena, MT

Newest Restaurant Will be Located in North Valley

August 14, 2019 // Franchising.com // Helena, MT - Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries, a national retro-themed diner chain, will open its newest location in Helena, Montana on Monday, August 19. The new restaurant is located at 7534 Roughsawn Dr. in Helena.

Hwy 55 is a diner with a full menu of American classics served in a fun, 1950’s dining atmosphere. It features fresh, never frozen, hand-pattied hamburgers, cheesesteak sandwiches, salads and a wide variety of milkshakes and frozen custards. Each location features a unique open kitchen in which customers can watch their meals being prepared.

The restaurant will be owned by Tim and Brenda Jittu. It will be the second Hwy 55 location owned by the couple. The Jittus have operated the restaurant at 2530 N. Montana Ave. since June 2018. Each of the Jittus’ three adult children work as managers at the store and will split responsibilities among the two restaurants.

“Through our first year of operation, the response from people in Helena and the surrounding area has been fantastic,” said Tim Jittu. “Our customers have loved the food, connected with the Hwy 55 brand and embraced our ‘Love Your Neighbor’ company philosophy. The North Valley is a rapidly growing area and I think it will be a great location for the next Hwy 55 in Helena.”

Hwy 55 opened its first restaurant in Goldsboro, NC in 1991. The restaurants in Helena are the only current locations west of the Mississippi River. The Jittus are also master franchisees for Hwy 55 with plans to bring additional stores to Montana.
