February 20, 2020 // Franchising.com // WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, PA. - Saladworks, a Philadelphia original fast-casual salad concept, is celebrating the re-opening of the restaurant in Newark, Delaware with existing and successful multi-unit franchisees for the brand, Curtis High and Jordan Rideout. The restaurant’s grand reopening and lettuce-cutting ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2020 at Harmony Plaza located at 4150 Stanton Ogelton Road in Newark.

The first 50 in line will receive free salad for a year with purchase, and everyone who buys a salad at the grand reopening will also receive a free salad to enjoy for a return visit. This initiative is the first of many in Newark to reintroduce the market to the Saladworks Rewards guest engagement program. Saladworks provides its guests with opportunities to become life-long fans, not just enjoying the grand opening promotion, but also providing them with the chance to earn delicious Saladworks rewards based on their patronage.

This marks Curtis and Jordan's eighth location, with the others spread out across Pennsylvania, in Lancaster, Harrisburg, Wyomissing, and Allentown. The two have been in business together for 13 years, and after already owning a location in southwest Wilmington in the Mill Creek Shopping Center, they are bringing new life into the Newark Saladworks. Across their locations, the duo annually partner with either the Juvenile Diabetes Association or the Muscle Dystrophy Association to give back to the communities in which they live and serve.

Saladworks provides guests with fresh, healthy and flavorful choices that fit any lifestyle. Create Your Own Salad is the canvas from which guests can “fuel their originality,” based upon taste, dietary or health specifications. The original fast-casual salad franchise offers more than 60 ingredients and seasonal varieties that allow guests to escape meal boredom with more options to create their own masterpiece as ‘original’ as they are. With 2020 being the Year of Originality, Saladworks will build on this platform to spark originality throughout the year with a variety of initiatives created for restaurant guests, team members, franchisees and the communities it serves.

At the completely remodeled Newark location, guests will be able to access Saladworks however they prefer, with a refreshed interior inviting guests to stay awhile for dine-in, in addition to a special section dedicated to take away ordersIn addition to Online Ordering which allows guests to 'skip the line' via in-store pick-up, the Newark location will offer delivery, bringing Saladworks to wherever they are. Saladworks of Newark will also offer a wide variety of catering solutions to freshen up any meetings at work, gatherings at home or special event celebrations. Whether on the go, at work or at home, Saladworks in Newark will make eating healthy convenient for any lifestyle.

“We are looking forward to bringing Saladworks back to the residents in Newark after the location was closed for nearly a year,” said Rideout. “We are inviting our loyal fans to enjoy their Saladworks however and wherever they want it both for our grand reopening and for years to come.”

Saladworks CEO Kelly Roddy will attending the lettuce-cutting.

“Curtis and Jordan are great examples of what strong multi-unit franchisees are able to accomplish in our 100+ unit system. When our existing franchisees are reinvesting in the brand, we know there is something special here, and we are actively looking to partner with similar experienced franchisees." says Roddy.

Growing through franchising to meet the rapidly increasing demand for healthier meal options, Saladworks is on pace to double in size, with 200 locations planned to open by the end of 2020. The company is expanding its franchise unit count through both traditional restaurant locations and nontraditional venues such as airports, military bases and universities. The brand plans for expansion into new markets including Minnesota, California, Florida, Colorado, Rhode Island, Indiana, Ohio and Arkansas.
