RockBox Fitness Swings into Minnesota

Boxing and kickboxing fitness concept continues expansion, signs deal for first location in North Star State

May 28, 2020 // Franchising.com // Rochester, Minn - RockBox Fitness - a state-of-the-art fitness franchise concepts that combines boxing, kickboxing, and functional training into high-energy group workouts - has announced plans to enter the Minnesota marketplace. This agreement for one location will be RockBox’s first studio in Minnesota.

The new studio will be owned and operated by Jim Stanton. A lease has yet to be signed, but Stanton is looking to open his studio in downtown Rochester. Stanton is looking to open his RockBox studio later this year in the fall.

Stanton currently works for the Jamar Company, a specialty commercial and industrial contractor business where he has worked for over 10 years. Stanton serves as a senior project manager, where he is responsible for managing employees, tracking client job progress, and executing company projects. After setting out to become a business owner, Stanton encountered RockBox Fitness and became interested in the concept.

“As soon as I researched the RockBox Fitness concept I knew I was the perfect brand for me,” Stanton said. “RockBox provides the best full-body workout in the industry, and has the most unique atmosphere to keep people motivated and pushing to reach their goals. I look forward to bringing RockBox to Rochester, and cannot wait to begin serving the community in the fall.”

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, RockBox has adapted and continued to provide services to members through the launch of RockBox Remote, an online workout portal to help members workout while quarantining at home. The portal provided members with access to nutritional guides, over 20 written body-weight workouts/circuits, accountability sheets, food journals, and checklists. It also provided members with the opportunity to stream live workouts and meet one-on-one with coaches.

Founded in 2017 and franchising since early 2018, RockBox Fitness was built to avoid the number one problem with any fitness program - boredom. The studios feature all the boxing equipment and heavy bags one would expect for a boxing- and kickboxing-based workout, plus an array of functional training tools like kettle bells, battle ropes and sleds (elliptical and treadmill machines need not apply). In addition, the studios are equipped with high-end sound systems to rock the tunes that keep members pumped and pushing hard. Color-adaptive lighting is also used to cue another level of psychological motivation. When the lights change, so does the intensity.

“RockBox is a growing brand, and we are eager to continue sharing our workouts and mission with communities across the country,” stated Roger Martin, Chief Commercial Officer and co-founder of RockBox Fitness. “Jim is the perfect fit for RockBox, and he is motivated by our mission to help people dig deep and push forward to not just reach their goals, but to achieve more than they thought was ever possible. We are proud to add Jim to the RockBox team, and have no doubt that he will be a great ambassador for our brand in Minnesota.”

RockBox has four different membership types from which to choose, ranging from unlimited training sessions to private lessons. Each trainer is professionally certified, accredited and has years-upon-years of experience boxing and kickboxing.
