Feeding Marion County families in need

OCALA, FL, November 24, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ - Celebrity's Soul Food®, a quality casual restaurant brand specializing in premium soul food, is continuing its commitment to service by making Thanksgiving possible for hundreds of Marion County families in need. On Thursday, November 26, 2020, Celebrity's will be donating 600 side dishes to Brother's Keeper, an Ocala-based non-profit that assists the food insecure without regard to race, creed, sex, or ethnicity. Their donations will help round out the meals Brother's Keeper will be giving away as part of their annual Thanksgiving service.

"At Celebrity's Soul Food, we believe that 'to be good, we must do good,' so we're honored to lend our support to Brother's Keeper this Thanksgiving," said Dr. Fredrick Jacobs, CEO, and Founder of Celebrity's Soul Food. "We strive to support the communities we serve and admire the critical services that Brother's Keeper provides for those in need throughout the greater Ocala area."

Celebrity's Soul Food will be donating scratch-made side dishes for the Brother's Keeper Thanksgiving meals. Sides will include their signature dishes, such as sweet potato soufflé and collard greens with smoked turkey meat.

"Being able to support our community is at the core of our brand," said Taja Jacobs, Chief Sustainability Officer for Celebrity's Soul Food. "We are blessed and thankful to be a part of this tradition at Brother's Keepers and are grateful to know to know that some of our side dishes can bring the holiday spirit to those need."

On Thursday, November 26, Brother's Keeper will be giving away free Thanksgiving meals. Marion County families with at least one child younger than 18 years old may qualify for the free meals. The organization requires individuals to sign up for meals in advance of the pickup day.

Brother's Keeper's mission is to give their clients a hand-up so that they can become the best version of themselves. Founded in 1970, the organization is the social service outreach ministry of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church.
