Robotic Lawn Mowing Arrives in South Charlotte

Local husband and wife team embrace high-tech Mowbot to bring future of lawn maintenance to South Charlotte

January 25, 2021 // Franchising.com // Charlotte, N.C. - Mowbot, the nation’s premier robotic lawnmowing service, is excited to announce the opening of Mowbot of South Charlotte. Husband and wife team, Michael and Tricia Finkelstein, are bringing the high-tech, cutting-edge national franchise to the Charlotte area and will be using Husqvarna robotic lawnmowers on grasses across the Queen City.

More homeowners, more people spending time at home, and more money spent on home improvement has just increased the demand for lawn care, which makes this the perfect time for Mowbot to enter the market! The Finkelstein’s are deploying the small bots, which operate with battery power, GPS technology and artificial intelligence, in local yards. No driver needed, just the bots zipping around the yard every day giving a consistent and healthy cut. Click here to see the bot in action. The high-tech mowers are disrupting the $99.5 billion lawn care industry with its clean, green, and quiet solution to lawn mowing. It’s the perfect way for homeowners, campuses, recreational spaces, property management groups and homeowners’ associations to save time and the environment in caring for North Carolina’s grasses.

“The pandemic is a disrupter, but in some cases, disrupters lead to opportunities, which is what I think is happening with Mowbot,” said local owner Tricia Finkelstein. “People are taking more of an interest in their homes, the environment, and how robotic technology can make their lives easier. Charlotte is the right location for this brand.”

COVID-19 Impact Creates Lifestyle Changes

The pandemic slowed down a lot of businesses - but not lawn care! At the start of the pandemic, the ad agency where Finkelstein worked took a hit, and she was forced to go part time. Her husband began searching for new opportunities for her when he stumbled upon Mowbot – the Charlotte-based company that is revolutionizing lawncare.  The brand clicked with the Finkelstein’s.

“While I was working from home, I began to notice there were lawn crews everywhere in the neighborhood,” said Finkelstein. “It seemed every time I was on a call, a lawn crew would start up and it was very noisy. Mowbot offers lawn upkeep that is quiet and environmentally friendly. It’s perfect for where we are in society right now.”

North Carolina-based businessmen Tony Hopp and Jeff Dudan founded Mowbot because they see the robot revolution that is coming. Also, the opportunity to be a major disrupter in the outdated lawn care industry that is benefitting from a high-tech, environmentally friendly alternative.

“This is the right place and right time for Mowbot to be introduced in South Charlotte,” said Tony Hopp, Mowbot CEO. “We are very excited to continue bringing this world-class technology to new areas and welcome Michael and Tricia Finkelstein to the Mowbot family.”

Mowbot of South Charlotte serves most of Waxhaw, Ballantyne, Weddington, and Indian Trail.
