Long-Awaited LaRosa’s Nicholasville Family Pizzeria Opens

A Tradition of Real Family Recipes Arrives in the City of Nicholasville

March 23, 2021 // Franchising.com // CINCINNATI, OHIO - LaRosa’s announced in the Summer of 2019 that its Central Kentucky franchise owner One Holland would build a family pizzeria in the City of Nicholasville. This, after successfully planting roots in Lexington with a full-service pizzeria on Richmond Road and a delivery-carry out on Southland Drive. After working through many construction delays, largely due to the novel coronavirus, the 5,500 square-foot LaRosa’s Nicholasville pizzeria is now open at 350 E. Brannon Road at Brannon Crossing near Lexington Road.

One Holland, also the largest franchise owner of Cincinnati-favorite, Skyline Chili, opened a Nicholasville Skyline adjacent to the LaRosa’s this past December. “It’s been a long road to get where we are today, and we couldn’t be more delighted to share LaRosa’s with our Nicholasville neighbors”, remarked Gary Holland of One Holland, franchise owner of the Lexington Skyline and LaRosa’s. “We’ve met so many wonderful people at our Skyline who’ve expressed their excitement for LaRosa’s. It’ll be fantastic when we can invite everyone to a community event, too - hopefully later this year, when Kentucky is safer”, Holland continued.

To express their gratitude to Nicholasville, at today’s grand opening, LaRosa’s gave away free pizza for a year to the first 50 guests, and a LaRosa’s-branded three-pizza warming bag filled with swag to the first 100 guests.

LaRosa’s is famous for its family recipe pizza. Founder Buddy LaRosa used his Aunt Dena’s pizza recipe when starting his first pizzeria in 1954. Nearly 70 years later, they still use the same recipe. LaRosa’s also offers a full menu of over 40 selections including appetizers, calzones, hoagys, salads and pastas for dine in, pick up or delivery in the neighborhood.

Many guests will first experience LaRosa’s Nicholasville in its 160-person capacity dining room (all in adherence to the State of Kentucky’s Covid-19 health and safety guidelines). The pizzeria features a full-service bar and a “Buddy Room” for parties and events. And, as might be expected from a “family pizzeria”, LaRosa’s offers a special kids menu.

LaRosa’s Nicholasville also has a convenient drive-up pick-up window that makes meal time easy. Guests can order and pay using the LaRosa’s app at work, stop to get the meal at the drive-up pick-up window, then arrive home to serve a hot, tasty meal to the family.

LaRosa’s Nicholasville will also deliver virtually everything on the menu to Guests who live nearby in the neighborhood. It’s also featured on both Door Dash and Grub Hub.

Michael LaRosa, CEO of LaRosa’s, Inc. and son of the founder said of the Nicholasville opening, “We are so excited for Gary and his team to open LaRosa’s Nicholasville. The folks there have been so patient since we first announced it was coming. We’re really looking forward to making lots of smiles with our service.” At its opening today, in support of the local community, and as a result of funds raised through its pre-opening friends-and-family event, LaRosa’s contributed $ 1,939.00 to The Hope Center, a social service agency that provides a wide array of services to people in Lexington who are homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless.
