Patriot Broadband Awards Franchise to Military Family in Oklahoma

Oklahoma Patriots seek to improve internet services in underserved communities

April 01, 2021 // Franchising.com // Oklahoma City - Patriot Broadband, is on a mission to bring reliable and affordable internet connections to underserved communities. The franchisor has recently awarded a new territory in Southern Oklahoma to a military family with previous telecommunications experience. This new franchise territory will advance Patriot Broadband’s mission by providing access to high-speed internet in communities seeking better service. This will be Patriot Broadband’s third franchise awarded, with current franchises in Missouri and Texas.

Franchisees, Leanne and Aaron Koonce, are eager to serve their community. With the support of the franchisor, they will bring fast, reliable and affordable internet services. The Koonce Family served in the United States Military deploying telecommunications solutions. These Patriots are equipped to lead the new territory and continue to give back to their community.

“Our family is more than ready to serve our community,” said Leanne and Aaron Koonce, Franchise Owners of Patriot Broadband in Southern Oklahoma. “We are thrilled to provide residents better access to internet services that will improve their daily lives tremendously.”

The need for fast and reliable internet access is a priority nationwide. As a result of the COVID pandemic, internet communications have been heavily impacted. The increased number of children attending school online and adults working from home has further exacerbated existing cellular infrastructure shortcomings. Major telecommunications companies and utilities have historically overlooked these under resourced pockets of the country because the economics are not favorable to them. The Federal Communications Commission states that 19 million Americans are left without high-speed internet and one-fourth of the population in rural communities lack access to these services. Private research institutes estimate the actual number is far greater.

“Patriot Broadband seeks out areas with limited internet service access that the big corporations underserve,” stated Stewart Newman, chief financial officer of Franchise Founders Group. “We know the Southern Oklahoma community and surrounding areas will be well-served by Leanne and Aaron Koonce and have confidence in their ability to carry out our mission.”

“We are excited to improve the internet service in communities that have been neglected for far too long,” said Newman. “Patriot Broadband brings unique competitive advantages to the industry which empowers investors with the tools needed to be community champions.”
