Smashburger® Calls To End The Chicken Wars With Launch Of New Menu Item & Peace Offering Promotion

Fast-Casual Burger Brand Introduces Scorchin' Hot Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Gifting a Free Sandwich to Restaurant Chain Employees and BOGO Offer for Consumers Nationwide

DENVER, April 19, 2021 // PRNewswire // - Smashburger®, the better burger fast casual restaurant, invites guests to test their spicy-food threshold with the announcement of the brand's newest premium menu creation, the Scorchin' Hot Crispy Chicken Sandwich. Made with Nashville hot crispy chicken, spicy red pepper mayo, pickles, and served on a classic toasted bun, the hot new menu item is available at Smashburger locations nationwide starting today through June 15, 2021. In the spirit of the competitive pressure for chicken sandwich dominance among many quick service restaurant brands, Smashburger is calling an end to the famous chicken wars inviting restaurant chains to leave the battles behind, much like 2020, and embrace their chicken sandwich differences by calling for peace and unity for the love of crispy chicken.

As the brand's way of celebrating the resiliency of the restaurant industry, Smashburger has implemented a "Peace Hour" promotion starting today through Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 2-5pm where all locations will be giving away a FREE Scorchin' Hot Crispy Chicken Sandwich to any fast casual or fast-food employee who comes into a Smashburger location dressed in their work uniform during this time frame*.

To encourage its guests to help spread the peace, the brand will also be offering a single day BOGO promotion on April 20, 2021. The promotion will give crispy chicken lovers who purchase a Scorchin' Hot Crispy Chicken Sandwich a second one for free, perhaps to share with a friend or foe as a peace offering.

*Guests must be in uniform to receive a free Scorchin' Hot Crispy Chicken Sandwich. Limited to one sandwich per customer per day while supplies last.
