SoBol’s Super Cool Food is Appetizing to Customers and Owners

The healthy food franchise continues to enjoy success with its 51st national franchise opening

July 14, 2021 // Franchising.com // FRANKLIN SQUARE, New York - Famous for their fresh-made acai bowls and smoothie bars, SoBol continues the climb in the growing superfood café industry.

Welcoming the 25th Long Island SoBol location, hundreds lined up for the grand opening, which offered free bowls to the first 50 in line. Since then, the Franklin Square location is staying busy with new and returning customers enjoying the brand’s signature bowls, smoothies, and homemade granola, otherwise known as SoBol’s special sauce.

This shop’s owners, Rich and Andrew, are the largest franchisees of the brand, with four successful Long Island stores and one in development in Plainview, New York. The super-duo operates SoBol locations in Long Beach, Merrick, Franklin Square, and partner at the shop in Wantagh.

Rich and Andrew know a good thing when they see it, “It’s the great business model that makes this work. It’s simple and effective.” But always in the spotlight is the healthy food created using the freshest ingredients from local growers. That’s what keeps customers coming back. Andrew says the formula of delicious food in a growing healthy food market is the recipe for success, “We are so proud to partner with this brand, knowing we are providing great quality food to our friends and neighbors.”

This opening is especially meaningful to Josette, the Franklin Square location’s managing partner, “I grew up in Franklin Square, the folks coming to our SoBol are family. They don’t just come here for the great customizable menu - it’s a place to visit and catch up. It makes me feel great to see this shop as a community gathering place.”

That’s exactly what SoBol founders Jason Mazzarone and Jim Kalomiris wanted to achieve when they created the SoBol franchise model seven years ago. “I couldn’t be more proud to open another location in the place where our dream started - Long Island. The people here are so supportive, and I am deeply grateful,” said Mazzarone.
