The Deptford grand opening event includes live music, a photo booth, arts and crafts, free tours, and more!

October 12, 2021 // Franchising.com // Deptford, NJ. - School of Rock, a performance-based music education franchise, announces the grand opening of a new school in Deptford, New Jersey. The event will take place at 1575 Almonesson Road Deptford, NJ 08096, from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. EST, on Saturday, October 16th. Along with a ceremonial guitar smashing (School of Rock’s version of a ribbon-cutting), the event will offer live music, a photo booth with awesome rock costumes, rock-themed arts and crafts, a prize wheel, tours of the school, and discounts for anyone that signs up.

School of Rock Deptford is owned by Matthew Glick. Matthew has been a musician for nearly two decades and a music teacher who taught private lessons. Matthew was blown away after seeing one of his students' shows at a School of Rock, and he immediately began looking into opening his own school. In the midst of the pandemic, Matthew opened School of Rock Deptford and was able to keep their award-winning music programs running safely, even during the shutdown.

“We opened during the pandemic and have managed to stay safe and afloat during this crazy period, but the pandemic prevented us from having a grand opening,” said Matthew Glick. “We are incredibly happy to finally be able to celebrate.”

School of Rock provides students of all ages an exciting and engaging music lesson experience, which includes bass lessons, guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons, and piano lessons. Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Lenny Kravitz, and Led Zeppelin. Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior musical proficiency, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol,The Voice and Broadway.

“Matthew is exactly the type of person we look for to lead a School of Rock franchise,” said Rob Price, CEO of School of Rock. “He is passionate about his community and eager to provide opportunities for students to further their music education. I look forward to watching the School of Rock Deptford location grow as their students thrive.”
