Crayola® Imagine Arts Academy™ Gears Up to Spread STEAM Awareness in 2022

Children’s art enrichment franchise looks forward to 2022 with new programs to make STEAM learning more accessible

December 10, 2021 // Franchising.com // MONTREAL - Crayola® Imagine Arts Academy™ -  a theme-based art enrichment franchise - is preparing for 2022 with new programs, while continuing to address the growing demand for STEAM education. As COVID restrictions were lifted and people began to express interest in in-person group activities once again, Crayola Imagine Arts Academy provided a fun and educational option for children to participate in. The brand continued expanding nationally by opening two new locations this year, one in Southeast California Bay Area and the other in Northwest Houston.

The brand also introduced two new programs to advance their mission of fostering creativity in children: Animal Emojis and Artblazers. Animal Emojis is an art-focused birthday party where children make animal shaped emojis out of clay. The party focuses on self-expression, all while celebrating each child’s special day. Artblazers is a revolutionary after school and camp program that showcases artists who changed the world such as Frida Kahlo, Yoko Ono, Keith Haring, and Andy Warhol. With the new year on the horizon, the brand looks forward to launching in the United Kingdom, as well as new programming and more franchises across North America.

“Many schools are currently spending less time teaching children how to explore their creative abilities, which are essential during early childhood development for emotional maturity and general well-being,” said President and Co-Founder, Shafik Mina. “We are more motivated than ever to fulfill that need through innovative art programs and we are eager to continue our expansion in the next year and bring accessible art to children across the world.”

The demand for a creative outlet has skyrocketed during the pandemic due to parents’ desires to get their children in after-school programs and summer camps. Crayola Imagine Arts Academy is unique because it is not just an arts and crafts programs. Classes teach children skills of creativity, and imagination, as well as an awareness for the world around them. Children in the various programs will not only learn art techniques, but be exposed to topics including cultural awareness, animal conservation, design careers and artists who changed the world.

“There are many states where art is being cut; schools don’t have the resources to spend on the arts and they are losing out on something powerful,” said Mina. “Crayola Imagine Arts Academy’s goal is to get children back into a routine of using their imaginations to learn empathy and understand imperative creative processes.”

Founded in 2016 and franchising since September of 2019, Crayola Imagine Arts Academy has been changing the way children view and understand art.
