Furniture, Mattress and Appliances Retailer Reflects On First Franchising Year

In early 2021, after more than 25 years of proven success in the retail home furnishings industry, the company adopted the franchising model.

Last year, American Freight awarded 5 franchise agreements across the country. The 5 agreements were signed to multi-unit operators and represent 17 new stores to be developed in the next two to three years. In July, one company store was converted to a franchise location as part of the new development agreements in Longview, Texas.

“2021 was a big year for the company,” said Will Powell, CEO of American Freight. “We knew we were uniquely positioned to grow, in both existing and new territories, and the success we’ve seen in our first year of franchising is proof.
