Reimagined Park Hyatt Chicago Now Accepting Reservations Ahead Of Summer 2022 Reopening

Following a renovation to the hotel’s public spaces, guestrooms and suites, the ultra-luxury iconic Downtown Chicago hotel is expected to reopen its doors this summer

May 02, 2022 // Franchising.com // CHICAGO, IL - Park Hyatt Chicago announced today an expected summer 2022 reopening of the iconic property at 800 N. Michigan Avenue, with reservations now available to book for stays July 1, 2022 and beyond. The hotel’s transformation will include the introduction of new suite categories and 23 new suite additions, reimagined guestrooms, thoughtful enhancements to the lobby and The Library experience, a refreshed curated art program, as well as updates to the food and beverage programs and destination spa. With its rich history as the original Park Hyatt branded property, Park Hyatt Chicago exhibits the epitome of luxury with an intimate and refined setting the brand is known for, in addition to the surrounding grandeur of the Magnificent Mile.

“After more than 40 years in the Windy City, Park Hyatt Chicago’s evolution will be a pivotal moment for the brand, bringing new life to the first-ever Park Hyatt property,” said Ms. Rike Erdbrink, general manager, Park Hyatt Chicago. “We could not be more excited to welcome guests back to the newly transformed hotel, which will redefine the quintessential sophistication of Park Hyatt Chicago and provide an opulent home-away-from-home experience for locals and worldly travelers.”

The design firm Anderson/Miller, Ltd. has been tasked with modernizing Park Hyatt Chicago’s guestroom and suite experiences to create an elegant urban retreat with world-class amenities, which will blend inspiration from the brand’s sophisticated foundation and the neighboring Water Tower Park. The color palette will be naturally soothing with sumptuous organic materials and vibrant green accents. Wraparound terraces will dawn several suites and guestrooms on the lower levels of the hotel. With more than 20 different room types available amongst the guestrooms, including 36 suites, the unique design and amenities of each guestroom and suite will tailor to guests’ diverse desires and needs, including the introduction of a Wellness Suite that will be fully equipped with cutting-edge exercise equipment for guests to train in the comfort of their own room. Additional room updates and amenities will include: 65” flat-screen HDTV: STAYCAST™ / Google Chromecast; Lutron® intuitive controls system, an energy management system that controls temperature; motorized blinds and lighting; integrated media hub, including an iPad for guest service communication and ordering in-room dining; large format Le Labo® bath products; and triple-pane glass windows that will provide a quiet, serene guestroom experience and reduce energy by regulating room temperatures.

With deep historical roots and a landmark address, the refreshed Park Hyatt Chicago will act as a residential oasis for discerning global travelers and locals alike, allowing for uniquely authentic yet elevated Chicago experiences. The local, woman-led design firm, Sheedy DeLaRosa Interiors, will design the lobby and The Library on the ground floor of the property to complement Park Hyatt Chicago’s newly curated, rotating modern art collection. Lighter tones with white marble accents will act as an elegant backdrop for a space where artwork is the focal point.

Named after the property’s iconic location on North Michigan Avenue, Park Hyatt Chicago’s NoMI Kitchen, with floor-to-ceiling cantilevered windows with picturesque views of Lake Michigan, will reopen with Executive Chef Terence Zubieta at the helm. Chef Terence’s refreshed menu will feature modern French-rooted American cuisine, using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. NoMI Lounge, with notable new art to be revealed, will also reopen this summer along with NoMI Garden, its chic rooftop terrace.

Park Hyatt Chicago’s spa and wellness destination will reopen to welcome guests and residents in summer of 2022. The relaxing haven will introduce an additional treatment room and newly transformed concept with additional details coming soon.
