Kim, on the other hand, has a PhD in Community Psychology, with her research has primarily focusing on youth development. Together, the Masseys are eager to introduce children in their community to the world of coding, preparing them with the necessary skills to succeed in our technology-driven society. on bringing additional locations to the area, as they’ve found that the knowledge of coding will be at the core of many industries for future generations.

“We’re thrilled to bring theCoderSchool to the Suwanee area and show kids across the community that anyone can learn how to code,” Jerry said. “As a former college football player at the University of Memphis, most people expect me to be the last person to co-own a coding school. But that’s the beauty of coding, it doesn’t have to appeal to one demographic. It’s a tool for all.”

theCoderSchool Suwanee will be hosting a grand opening event, August 27th from 1-3 p.m., offering free lessons and a 75% discount on student’s first month of classes for those who attend. Joining the Masseys for their grand opening will be theCoderSchool co-owners, Hansel Lynn and Wayne Teng.

“One of the biggest appeals of theCoderSchool is the leadership and the amazing culture the brand provides,” added Jerry. “When my wife and I were exploring different franchise opportunities to pursue, we knew instantly knew that the theCoderSchool is what we wanted to bring to our community after meeting with Hansel and Wayne. Not only do they provide the foundation and experience to nurture a great concept, but they’re genuinely wonderful guys.”

Founded by Hansel Lynn and incubated with the help of his best friend, Wayne Teng, theCoderSchool was built to provide children aged 7 to 18 years with a welcoming environment to develop computer programming skills. theCoderSchool uses a variety of platforms to teach many coding languages, such as HTML, CSS, Python, JavaScript and more. Every Code Coaching lesson is customized with the help of trained Code Coaches® who use a 2-on-1 approach to teaching.

“We are thrilled to see the Masseys bring coding to more communities across the Atlanta area,” said Lynn. “With Jerry’s background in computer sciences and Kim’s background in youth development, I have no doubt that they will successfully show to the kids of Suwanee just how fun and exciting coding is. I’m excited for them to share their knowledge with parents and students, helping the next generation start off on the right foot.”
