Metal Supermarkets Family of Companies Names Paul O’Regan as Director of Learning and Development

September 12, 2022 // Franchising.com // TORONTO, Ont. - Metal Supermarkets Family of Companies announced today the appointment of Paul O’Regan to the new role of Director of Learning and Development. With an extensive 15-year background in learning and development, O’Regan will oversee both franchisee and employee training and development planning for both Metal Supermarkets and FlannelJax’s.

In addition to supporting the development of the Metal Supermarkets and FlannelJax’s teams, this new leadership position will create and oversee training needs throughout the entire company, including software, customer service, operational training, guiding new franchisees through store openings and supporting the development of mentoring and leadership skills.

“Metal Supermarkets’ growth has brought a need for a new team member experienced in learning and development. With Paul’s high-caliber training expertise, Metal Supermarkets Family of Companies will continue to improve the support offered to our franchisees and their teams,” said Stephen Schober, President & CEO. “We believe that more than fifteen years in learning and development roles have prepared Paul well for the needs of our Metal Supermarkets and FlannelJax’s brands.”

In his early career, O’Regan earned a degree in business and became a Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP), starting in sales and sales management at a Canadian electronics store called Future Shop. Following his time in sales, O’Regan took a position at Long & McQuade Musical Instruments as the Learning and Development Manager. Later, he served as the Director of Learning and Development at a direct sales agency. His most recent position was at a scrap metal company as the Learning and Development Manager, preparing him well for this new role at Metal Supermarkets. As a result of his experiences in both B2C sales and internal management and support, O’Regan understands the necessary methods for the company’s internal development and external growth.
