PetWellClinic Secures Space For New Location in Methuen, Mass.

Walk-In Wellness Clinic, The First of Three Planned for Northeastern Massachusetts, Will Open in Spring 2023, Bringing Convenient, Affordable Veterinary Care for Cats and Dogs

December 16, 2022 // Franchising.com // METHUEN, Mass. – PetWellClinic, a walk-in wellness clinic offering high-quality, convenient and affordable veterinary care for cats and dogs, announced today that its franchisee Jeff Bezer has secured a lease to occupy a space in The Loop at 90 Pleasant Street in Methuen. The new clinic is the first of three covered by a multi-unit development agreement for Northeastern Massachusetts that Bezer signed earlier this year and is expected to open in Spring 2023.

“Methuen is right in the wheelhouse of the demographics that we are looking for,” says Bezer. “The population is pretty dense and the average household income is strong. I also really like that one of the only SPCA animal shelters in the state is here. I’ve already reached out to the folks there to develop a relationship. Partnering with them would be a tremendous opportunity.”

Within Methuen, The Loop is a retail focal point, with more than 30 ground-level shops, eateries and service venues attracting traffic. Anchor businesses include AMC Theaters, Marshalls, Old Navy and Home Depot, with other adjacent big-box retailers including Walmart and Target. Bezer, who previously lived in Methuen, says it is an ideal location for his first PetWellClinic.

“This property is pretty busy, easily accessible from the highway and has got good visibility,” he says. “It’s also centrally located in my development area, which is good. I’d like to have my three sites spaced so they’re not on top of or too far away from each other.”

PetWellClinic provides convenient, quick in-and-out veterinary care for cats and dogs such as exams and vaccinations, treatment for minor illnesses, management of chronic conditions and laboratory testing. Wellness packages with additional tests and treatments are also available. The opening of a new PetWellClinic location typically brings welcome relief to traditional veterinary offices and pet owners in the area, in alleviating the backlog of available appointments.

“There are a lot of vet practices in the area, and I called around to see how busy they were,” Bezer says. “You’re typically looking at a one- to three-month wait to get in if you’re a new patient. There’s a good opportunity for us to pick up the demand for dealing with less serious issues, to unload some of that burden off them. If an animal just has a skin condition, for example, they can come into our walk-in clinic instead of waiting three weeks to see a vet.”

Bezer, who has an undergraduate degree in business management and an MBA in Finance, says he always wanted to own a business. When he started researching franchise opportunities, PetWellClinic checked all the boxes.

“This was something I could get excited about,” he says. “I felt it really fills a need in the marketplace and has high growth potential. Plus, it’s rewarding to provide affordable care for animals.”
