Outdoor Lighting Perspectives (OLP), the world's oldest and largest outdoor lighting franchising company, has released a list of 10 target territories in the U.S. where it aims to establish new franchises.
May 02, 2008 // Franchising.com // - Outdoor Lighting Perspectives (OLP), the world's oldest and largest outdoor lighting franchising company, has released a list of 10 target territories in the U.S. where it aims to establish new franchises. The locations, from the West Coast to the Southeast, will allow OLP to significantly increase its nationwide distribution of landscape and architectural lighting design and systems.
OLP's list of target territories includes Miami-Dade, Fla.; Sacramento, Calif.; Hartford, Conn.; Harrisburg, Lancaster, Lebanon and York, Pa.; Albuquerque-Santa Fe, N.M.; Little Rock, Ark.; Tulsa, Okla.; Omaha, Neb.; Detroit, Mich.; and Honolulu, Hawaii. Once secured, the new locations will join a network of more than 80 franchises worldwide.

"OLP has always been successful in recruiting franchise partners who are motivated and have a passion for excellence," said Tom Fenig, founder and president of OLP. "We are certain that our recruitment efforts will allow us to add other outstanding franchisees to our growing network."
OLP does not require prior lighting or electrical experience for franchisee application. Existing OLP franchisees have a variety of backgrounds, including sales, finance, technology and various trades. In addition to sales and marketing support and initial training, OLP provides franchise support through its Field Support Consultant (FSC) program of designated trainers. Franchising fees for the company range from $29,000 to $89,000 annually.

OLP also is concentrating its expansion efforts in smaller territories across the country with the introduction of a micro market franchise offering for areas with populations of fewer than 300,000 people. The micro market franchise is ideal as an add-on service to existing businesses such as landscaping, home improvement and casual furniture stores and carries a nominal franchising fee of $27,500. Some of the targeted territories for micro market franchises include Wichita, Kan.; Baton Rouge, La.; Montgomery, Ala.; Savannah, Ga.; Evansville, Ind.; El Paso, Texas; and Jackson, Miss.
"The time is right to invest in the outdoor living category, which continues to grow in popularity and products," Fenig said. "And offering products such as our outdoor lighting systems is an easy way to generate additional revenue for those already invested in the outdoor living industry."
The micro market franchise requires minimal staffing - two to four employees - including field and service personnel, sales consultants and an office manager or executive assistant. Micro market franchises are not required to carry inventory, but are required to set up an OLP display.
"The micro market franchise opportunity also is ideal for retirees who are seeking a small business or part time employment opportunity," Fenig said. "This is a business that will literally run itself after about 90 to 120 days."
