Company History
Peter and Karen Seiter instantly fell in love with Paraffine during their 2002 Belgian honeymoon, when they wandered into a magical Paraffine concept store.
Inspired, they met with Paraffine Managing Director and Founder, Jens Andersen, who gave the Seiter's the nod to bring his unique and colourful concept to Australia.
Paraffine began in 1970 when Mr Andersen began producing hand-dipped candles at his family's kitchen sink. He sold them from a cart during his lunchbreak from factory work in the Danish town of L?gum Kloster.
The candles became so popular that after three years, Jens and his wife built Paraffine's first factory and established the brand L?gum Kloster Lys - representing the name of the village and the Danish word meaning 'candles'.
Today, Paraffine's modern production facility creates around 60,000 candles every day, along with candelabras and complementary decorative items.
The first Paraffine concept store was introduced in Belgium in 1994. It is now joined by stores in America, Australia, Denmark, Germany and Sweden.
