Restaurant supports local sports, schools and charities
January 23, 2009 // Franchising.com // Aurora, Ont., - Boston Pizza International Inc. proudly announces the grand opening of its first restaurant and sports bar in Aurora, Ontario on Monday, January 26, 2009. The new restaurant, located at 8 First Commerce Drive, will create 100 jobs in the local community and is part of Boston Pizza's continued expansion across Ontario.
Boston Pizza is brought to the Aurora community by franchisee Connell Addison, while local Aurora resident Ian Calvert will assume the responsibility of general manager.
"Boston Pizza offers two great experiences under one roof - a family dining room and a separate sports bar," says franchisee Addison. "We want to be an integral part of the growing area and commit to being an active member of the Aurora community."
With more than 100 menu items, there's something for everyone at Boston Pizza. Guests can choose from 23 different varieties of gourmet pizza, plus pasta, appetizers, ribs, entrées, salads and desserts. Boston Pizza's Delicious Alternatives menu offers six Health CheckTM items that are lower in fat, sodium and carbohydrate content, and the Kids Menu offers delicious, healthy options for kids.
As part of Boston Pizza's commitment to the local community, Addison and the staff of Boston Pizza Aurora will present a cheque to the Boys and Girls Club of Canada from tips generated through six dress rehearsals at the grand opening party on Friday, January 23, 2009.
The restaurant will also provide support year-round to local amateur sports teams, schools and community centres. Donations will be made through the Boston Pizza Foundation, which has raised more than $8.2 million for various Canadian charities since its inception in 1990.
The new restaurant will feature Boston Pizza's latest interior and exterior designs, and seat more than 250 in the dining room, sports bar and patio - ensuring plenty of room for a party of any size. The comfortable, casual dining room will appeal to those hungry for lunch or dinner, and the avid sports fan will love the lounge featuring big screen HD plasma televisions and a variety of local sports memorabilia honouring both amateur and professional athletes alike. Boston Pizza also offers take-out and delivery service and is open late seven days a week.
