February 19, 2009 // Franchising.com // Café Yumm! opened its doors Monday, February 16 at RiverBend Medical Center, welcoming patients, visitors, and staff to enjoy beautiful, healthy, delicious food. Café Yumm!, Lane County's own fast-casual and uniquely Northwest eatery, was selected last fall by PeaceHealth to operate the only restaurant within the Medical Center.
Café Yumm! at RiverBend is a franchise, with owner Zack Hegge leading operations. This is the Hegge Family's second Café Yumm! – they also own the Café Yumm! at The Crossroads on Gateway in Springfield.
Grand Opening events are scheduled for March 5, 2009 with an official Springfield Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting at the restaurant at 2:45pm. Springfied Mayor Sid Leiken will be joined by Café Yumm! founders Mark and Mary Beauchamp and restaurant owners Zack, Ron, and Chris Hegge. Free Café Yumm! Organic coffee will be served throughout the afternoon.
Debbie McGeorge from FOOD For Lane County will also be present to promote a food drive. Bring in two non-perishable food items as donations to FOOD For Lane County and be entered into a drawing for wonderful Café Yumm! products, including Yumm! sauce and organic coffee.
For Café Yumm! founders Mark and Mary Ann Beauchamp, a PeaceHealth- affiliated location represents a lifelong commitment to creating delicious food that nourishes the body, which started for Mary Ann when she was a teen. "I knew even at fourteen [when my father had a heart attack] there had to be a healthier alternative to the food the hospital was serving to a sick man." A healthy, nourishing diet is a key preventive measure against heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, and more.
